Planning
The best time of day to book a Charleston sunset cruise
Sunset shifts by close to two hours between June and December. Here is how we time the boat so you are on the water for the good part.

Sunset in Charleston lands close to 8:30pm in June and drifts back to around 5:30pm by December, which changes when a two hour sunset charter should actually leave the dock.
How we set the departure time
We work backward from the actual sunset time for your date, not a fixed slot, so you spend the charter watching the sky change instead of waiting for it to start.

- Summer trips usually leave around 7pm
- Winter trips can leave as early as 4:30pm
- We confirm the exact time when you book
The light over the Battery about twenty minutes before the sun actually sets is the best five minutes of the trip. We time the anchorage for exactly that.
What is included
Every sunset cruise on High Tide comes with a charcuterie platter and a bottle of wine or prosecco already on ice, so there is nothing to arrange beforehand beyond picking your date.
